Day 2: HISTORIC
DISTRICT TOUR / BONAVENTURE CEMETERY / FREE TIME ON
RIVER STREET / CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST /
ANDREW LOW HOUSE
/ DINNER @ LADY & SONS RESTAURANT /
SAVANNAH, GA:
On our tour of
Savannah’s Historic District you will see a wealth of
architectural simplicity, the indescribable charm of its
streets and buildings, parks and squares. Laid out in
1733 by General James Oglethorpe, Savannah is the first
master planned community in America. This tour includes
a walk through Bonaventure Cemetery. Enjoy free time on
River Street before visiting Cathedral of Saint John the
Baptist and Andrew Low House. The architecture of the
massive Cathedral is a sight to behold. Then visit the
Andrew Low House museum. This Green Revival and
Italianate style construction was the home of Juliette
Gordon Low. It was on this site that Low founded the
Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. in 1912. After an included
dinner at Paula Dean’s Lady & Sons Restaurant, you will
enjoy a performance at the historic Savannah Theatre.
The Theatre gives its best to Broadway as they perform
show stopping hit songs from everyone’s favorite
musicals. (B, D)

Day 3: TRAM
TOUR OF JEKYLL ISLAND / LUNCH AT JEKYLL ISLAND CLUB
HOUSE / BRUNSWICK, GA / ST. SIMONS ISLAND / FORT
FREDERICA NATIONAL MONUMENT / CHRIST CHURCH / ST. SIMONS
LIGHTHOUSE / SAVANNAH, GA:
Today we travel south
to Georgia’s Golden Isles. On Jekyll Island you will
enjoy a tram tour of the barrier island that was the
winter retreat for some of America’s most elite families
– such as Morgan, Astor, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt,
Pulitzer, and others. History will come alive by your
knowledgeable guide. Lunch is at the prestigious Jekyll
Island Club Hotel’s Grand Dining Room where the members
dined a century ago. Then enjoy a driving tour of
Brunswick that stretches from Old Town to the waterfront
- home to much of the local shrimp boats. Brunswick is
rich in both maritime and mainland history. Your tour
will continue to the largest of Georgia’s fabled Golden
Isles, St. Simons Island. It was here that General James
Oglethorpe’s troops established Georgia’s first military
outpost, Fort Frederica. You will enjoy a drive-through
tour of the Fort. On the north end of the island is
Christ Church, built in 1736. On its grounds is the spot
where John Wesley, the father of Methodism, first
preached. Stop at the St. Simons Lighthouse. This is one
of only five surviving light towers in Georgia and the
most visited one. Dinner will be on your own in the St.
Simons Village area where there are a number of
